Today was the first day of our Greek National Robotics team’s boot camp, at the American Farming School. Since we are about 70 members, from many different parts of Greece, it actually was our first time meeting the people we’d been talking to and working with for over a month.
It was a highly active day, filled with numerous tasks such as organizing our laboratory (our new working space) and making sure that all of our materials had been brought here safely. During the debriefing, at the prompting of Eduact President Mr. Kostas Vasileiou, we shared the “Magical Moments” experienced by each one of us throughout the day. Some referred to once again meeting old friends, the joyous atmosphere that characterized the day, and the building of relationships with team members from different regions. Many were enthusiastic about the time we spent at the dining hall, sharing tables with friends and strangers, that quickly became friends too. Other team members were enchanted by Mr. Charisteas’ (a former football player from Greece) speech, which provided us with methods to better achieve our biggest life goals. The lab setup, the brainstorming to build the robot, and the first encounter with Arduino also held a special place in our day for the pre-National Team Members.
When the sun started setting, we also had a treasure hunt game that provided moments of joy and excitement for all the Team Members, and is what we believe to be the definition of a “Bonding Experience”.
