GNRT BOOTCAMP: DAY 3 SUMMARY

On the third day, after breakfast, we went to our work area and divided into departments: mechanical, programming, and creative. The challenge for the day was to build a robot that could play curling. Teams had seven hours to complete the robot, with testing scheduled from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.

The key rule for the challenge was that teams could multiply their final score by 1.2 if their robot placed the ball with the most accuracy in the central target. This motivated everyone to finish early and test for the accuracy bonus. The curling competition consisted of three rounds with one robot per track, followed by three rounds with two robots, and then three rounds with three robots on each track.

The robots had to carry a basketball from one point to a designated square and place it as close to the center as possible. The scoring system rewarded precision: 0 points for placing the ball directly on the target, with increasing points the farther away the ball landed. The goal was to have the fewest points, with each team needing to complete the task three times within one minute.

After lunch, it was announced that two musicians would entertain us in the evening with a guitar performance. We resumed working on our robots after the break, and at 5:00 p.m., all teams took their tests to try for the 1.2 multiplier. After testing, we assisted the creative department and prepared for the competition.

In the evening, all teams gathered at the amphitheater where the track was set up, and the curling competition took place. Once the competition ended, we had dinner in the cafeteria and then enjoyed the live music performance before heading to bed.
